With hip-hop constantly aging and evolving, so many artists get boxed into sub-genres within the culture: mainstream rap, backpack, conscious, alternative, etc. Ken Neth aka KB consciously combines all styles to resonate a more universal message. Kenneth Brown was born on June 4, 1988, in Ocala, FL. KB was eight years old when his uncle introduced him to 2pac, OutKast, and A Tribe Called Quest, which later inspired him to pick up the microphone and inspire others in return.
Fascinated by the power of lyrical expression, the 27-year-old rapper made it his goal to uplift spirits by making his music more parallel to the people. The purpose of his creativity is to lighten the listeners’ soul while giving himself a platform to do what he pleases.
"I don’t have to be the richest person ever,” KB said. “As long as I can make a living [off] music being my job every day, then I feel like my life has been a success and I achieved what I ultimately set out to do.”
You can listen to him on AMH’s 2 Hour Takeover Show.
